It is a complete of an alpine trailing intended to take at limited altitude of comfortable hikes. The trails are reasonably gradient through diverse vegetations festooned meadows vivid Himalayan herbs alpine bushes and shrubs and finally accompanied by high mountains of miniature plants. It all starts at Naggar by driving to the roadhead at Rumsu village and then the exciting memoir commences. It may be struggling at initial but one gets familiar eventually pacing up the course. The scenery will accompany all the way long encouraging one to see more and more out of the lucid Nature. The forests density is commendable giving birth to some of the gigantic trees standing humbly fostering the nature even before human habitation took place.

Chandarkhani Pass is settled at an elevation of 11800 ft above sea level. This short trek of 2 nights and 3 days is an adventure hub for its scenic charm and wonderful trekking trails in the Himalayan range. Its spectacular views, breathtaking scenes, and isolated trails make it a perfect destination for tourists that offers you the views of Pir Panjal ranges, Deo Tibba Peak, Parbati mountain ranges.

The trail is picturesque and filled with surprises making every height gain exceptionally contented. There are various species of trees such as Deodar, Pine, Walnut, Chestnut, Oak, Fir, Birch, Juniper and Rhododendron trees. Along to that a numerous kinds of flowers Himalayan herbs miniscule plants are found abundantly throughout the trek. The vegetation keeps shortening as the altitude is gained which finally turns into shrub like plant life scattered around the slopes. The Chandarkhani slopes are highly rich in Himalayan Herbs often yielded by the dwellers living below for medicinal purposes. The top of Chandarkhani is said to be the abode of 18crore Gods and Goddesses, celestial beings dominating and affecting the valley in every aspect of customs, rituals, life styles and social conducts. It is a power house of celestial authorities performed on each gathering of the divinities resolving any big deal or general rituals. These divine visits held inconsistently but to save mankind the Deities will approach the site each time requisite. It is located in the Gods country a magical place to be around. It is not just a usual trek yet allures one with variety of observations information’s about nature and its importance for our better future.

Day 1: Reach Naggar (1800m/5900ft.) – Rumsu (2200m/7200ft.) – Naya Tapru (3450m/9770ft.)

Reach Naggar early as the trek is for full day,  start driving towards Rumsu village. Here our trek starts with a steep climb leading for awhile then changing its gradient to moderate trekking trails. The route goes winding through trees shrubs torrents to highland pastures of Stelling Ghon Kradi and then to our campsite at Naya Tapru. These all meadows are pastoral slants for the livestock of the locals living below. But Naya Tapru is the widest of them offering grand vistas of the Dhauladhar range Hanuman Tibba and most interesting a view of Manali. It looks great when it gets dark and these lights of civilization make you feel the seclusion of the time being. Once overcome the days trek relax amidst the pure Natural surroundings. Have your dinner alongside the little fire and sleep well inside the tents.

Day 2: Naya Tapru – Chandarkhani Pass (3700m/12140ft.) – Naya Tapru

Wake up early before the sun strikes its first beam on the mountains. Glimpse the sunrise contrasting and glorifying the mountains as spectacularly as it could shine on the varied terrains. Have your breakfast pack your day sack, lunch, water and any necessary things needed later on the trek. The trail will keep going up and moderate through high altitude vegetation of Rhododendrons, Birch and Fir trees along with a bunch of discarded livestock of Bulls Cows and some tamed Horses Mules wandering across the slopes. We may find many of them just grazing out there and as we pass by the trail they stare asking what are you doing in here? Nevertheless constant change will embrace the viewer to fulfill his emotions at each ascends. The vast open spaces will now be consistent and will show the Pass as we approach at Chaklani, a halting site for the shepherds in summers and for some trekkers too. Just after Chaklani is an underwater stream called Gupt Ganga surfacing aside the trail to Chandrakhani Pass. This stream keeps flowing all year even in the winters and is a permanent source of drinking water for the people going to and fro. The water is meant to be sacred that it is taken back for spiritual offerings worships. It is a moderate climb towards the Pass over grassy slants seeming like the carpet awning the surface. The top of the pass is rendered holy as there are called to be settled 18crore Gods and Goddesses, an abode of powerful vibes flattering across the region. The top present’s 360 degree view of isolated surroundings capped mountains and the most fascinating figures of the holy stone surfacing out from the earth. It is a sacred place though no litter or shouts should be made and do not disregard the places integrity as it is a prominent pilgrimage site for the correlated dwellings. We will spend some time and retrieve back to the campsite. Once approached have a hot cup of tea snacks and relax amidst the mighty ranges. Watch the sunset painting the skies a varied hues consecutively changing till the dusk. After this spectacular show have your sumptuous dinner and sleep well.

Day 3: Nayya Tapru – Rumsu – Naggar – Departure.

As you know every mountainous excursion demands a precise planning, a planning with adequate pliability of observing and tackling situations, held all as by overcoming mind body and soul throughout the incredible Himalayan journey.

So here are some aspects regarding trek preparation:

Physically – A trek demands physical endurance, to prepare for each trek you should work out a month before joining a program.  Build up the adequate strength in your legs by running and exercising every day to boost up your endurance. Stop smoking and boost your lungs doing breathing exercises at routine basis two times a day, which will help acclimatize the conditions while being resilient on the trek. Take active part in outdoor games, Yoga and any other cardiac exercises.

Mentally – Mental preparation is key, equally as important as physical training requisite for a trek. Before joining any trek take pleasure in your daily routines, eat well, take rest properly and relax. Do not stress your mind by unnecessary predictions about the trek. Be with your best friends to get motivated and relax your mind. Because pre trek assumptions are not worthy because once you join the trek and meet with rest of the pack will bring encouragement and excitement. The mental preparedness will build through the entire trek conditions. And the physical drawbacks will affect the mind. So pay close attention to various parts of the body and consciously let them loosen up as you trek. When you trek try to relax your body, especially your hips. If you’re on a winding downhill trail or on a panicking slant, think of each step as part of a simple dance and enjoy the natural rhythms that the terrain and your body can find together cautiously. Experiment with different ways of walking as a way of finding enjoyment beyond the goal of reaching a destination. The main key to stay mentally fit is to enjoy the route and not to pressurize the mind.

Technically- Gear up yourself with perfect size trekking shoes and walk with it. Use 60ltr. Backpack in a daily routine with some weight inside it, so you become used to carrying loads. Buy a trekking pole, water bottle, warm socks, thermals, fleece, feather jackets, trousers, poncho,  flip flops, electronics such as power bank, camera (DSLR or digital camera).

Even though not as popular as other trekking agencies, these guys were very professional and conducted one of the most difficult treks in an Excellent way. The trek leaders, support staff and the cooking staff were excellent. They really run the trek on their shoulders. I remember the cooking head was saying to me that he has done pin Parvati nearly 50 times and there hasn't been any incident whatsoever, I realized it why. The technical staffs really did amazing job to get everyone cross the difficult and risky boulders and tricky sections. Appreciate the whole team. The management team though can improve on communication and advertising more.

Yunam Peak is open for those who look for a High Altitude challenge. Its duration is short compared to the others of comparable height. One is on foot only for 2 or 3 days. One part of the walk is entirely loose stones/boulders, the other part is just snow. Himalayan Adventure trips provide comfortable accommodation before and after the trek at their campsite in Naggar. Their trek guide was competent and the other members were proficient in the work they had to handle.

This trek is the place and the trek to take , if it all you have any doubts on your physical capabilities or want to challenge your body and mind together! What a trek it was! The hardest route, the most difficult terrain and the longest hike I have ever done. Still, this is my best! Our family did it together and it is our best one. We had the longest route - 45km and it took almost 5 days to complete. It was a night trek and we scaled during the midnight amidst moonlight and snowing. What a thrill

Such magnetic place which would attract you from miles away. It's attraction would not be light even if you reach up to it and walk on it. Just a nature's marvel which makes everything else look smaller and worthless in front of it.

A trek treat on Himalayas. So much of knowledge about the other side of mountain life seems to have made a tad richer in experience and of course the humility and good lessons to lean on to that only mountains can teach.
