  • The Beas Kund trek, located in Manali, is home to the rushing Beas river and opens up with stunning views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks. Dawning from Solang, the adventure hub for tourists, the path twists through deep pine and rhododendron woodlands, verdant meadows, and rustic hamlets. The walk is most enjoyable from May to October, when a thick coating of snow covers the path at higher altitudes. Beas Kund trek is a terrific weekend trip in Manali's backcountry. It is a short excursion that provides you with an experience of snow in Solang Valley by tracking a river to its source via mixed terrains of gorgeous meadows, tranquil river flows, high altitude campsites, moraines, ice, and scree. The trek reveals its full splendour throughout Manali's gorgeous valley, which is brimming with natural beauty. It transports us to the most gorgeous grasslands, draped with varied highland plants and coloured by a plethora of flower species that adorn the pastures delectably. While hiking to Bakar Thach, the greenery continues to shrink to microscopic proportions.
  • The area is rich in Himalayan herbal plants and unique mushrooms, resulting in a diversified flora visible in just a few kilometres of hiking. Bakar Thach's campground is busy with mountaineers and trekkers since it serves as the base for many climbing trips, making it a perfect place to begin an expedition. It is the base, surrounded by massive peaks that are frequently climbed by ardent mountaineers. The rough and desert natures next await us with sheer challenges till we arrive at the magnificent Lake of Beas kund. At an altitude of 3700m/12140ft, it offers a good height gain and an amazing experience for a beginner.
  • The trek provides every facet of high altitude trekking in a pleased manner, rewarding one with genuine interactions with Natural Phenomenon. If you want to have a safe trip in the slopes of Manali, you can rent Trekking Equipment in Manali. The lake is considered sacred by Hindus because it was formed by Sage Ved Vyas, author of the epic Mahabharata, from its source, Lake Beas Kund. It is a heavenly area filled with spiritual vibrations and tranquillity, a place to wash negative thoughts and fill minds with humility and honesty. The setting is so fascinating that each visitor is influenced by the unusual atmosphere that pervades the hallowed spot. The enormous vistas of powerful mountain ranges are incredibly captivating, with the region's mighty summits Hanuman Tibba, Friendship, Shetidhar, Ladhakhi, and so on. It will be a thorough journey through breathtaking scenery en route to a glacier lake that will give birth to the vibrant river Beas. This river travels for over 500 kilometres before joining the Sutlej River at Kapurthala. The river Beas provides incredible chances to the civilizations that live beneath the valleys, giving birth to one of the most visited tourist destinations in the country. Aside from that, we will return to the inhabitation cautiously through moraines scree to the alpine meadows of Bakar Thach and Dhundi.

Preparation for Beas Kund Trek

As you know every mountainous excursion demands a precise planning, a planning with adequate pliability of observing and tackling situations, held all as by overcoming mind body and soul throughout the incredible Himalayan journey.

So here are some aspects regarding Hampta Pass Trek preparation:

Physically – A trek demands physical endurance, to prepare for each trek you should work out a month before joining a program. Build up the adequate strength in your legs by running and exercising every day to boost up your endurance. Stop smoking and boost your lungs doing breathing exercises at routine basis two times a day, which will help acclimatize the conditions while being resilient on the trek. Take active part in outdoor games, Yoga and any other cardiac exercises.

Mentally – Mental preparation is key, equally as important as physical training requisite for a trek. Before joining any trek take pleasure in your daily routines, eat well, take rest properly and relax. Do not stress your mind by unnecessary predictions about the trek. Be with your best friends to get motivated and relax your mind. Because pre trek assumptions are not worthy because once you join the trek and meet with rest of the pack will bring encouragement and excitement. The mental preparedness will build through the entire trek conditions. And the physical drawbacks will affect the mind. So pay close attention to various parts of the body and consciously let them loosen up as you trek. When you trek try to relax your body, especially your hips. If you’re on a winding downhill trail or on a panicking slant, think of each step as part of a simple dance and enjoy the natural rhythms that the terrain and your body can find together cautiously. Experiment with different ways of walking as a way of finding enjoyment beyond the goal of reaching a destination. The main key to stay mentally fit is to enjoy the route and not to pressurize the mind.

Technically- Gear up yourself with perfect size trekking shoes and walk with it. Use 60ltr. Backpack in a daily routine with some weight inside it, so you become used to carrying loads. Buy a trekking pole, water bottle, warm socks, thermals, fleece, feather jackets, trousers, poncho, flip flops, electronics such as power bank, camera (DSLR or digital camera).

The trek went quite well, I must say with a lot of fun and learning. The weather and the trails were absolutely amazing and the views were just mesmerizing. Thanks for the dates, that suited so well. One suggestion that came to my mind, was the fitness level of fellow trekkers, Though you ask people to submit their fitness report by walking, running, or cycling in a given time frame, But looking at the fitness level of a few of the fellow trekkers, I felt that they were quite short of the required fitness levels, which slowed the speed of others and more attention was given to their health. There were many good things on the trek. A few of them I am sharing here. 1. My quest to conquer the highest peak was fulfilled when I climbed Tapovan, not just that I reached first from our batch on the top, but with a good speed and stamina. So my self-belief and confidence went high up.

The HAT experience was exceptional. As a millennial living in Mumbai, it's easy to get caught up in the small lows and highs of life as a professional. This trek was a big and meaningful reminder of- the beauty of nature and the very real threats we are posing to nature through our current lifestyle, the small things we take for granted living at home (running water, electricity), the trust and teamwork you can build with your HAT group to encourage, support and help each other, pushing your boundaries. The Beas Kund trek experience was this and more- Himachal's beauty will always hold a special place in my heart. Amidst this stunning landscape- the HAT team took the care to ensure we were safe, but also explain to us the little things- how to get into your sleeping bag, how to prevent blisters, hydration, green trails- making us feel an integral part of this incredible value-driven organization
