As you know every mountainous excursion demands a precise planning, a planning with adequate pliability of observing and tackling situations, held all as by overcoming mind body and soul throughout the incredible Himalayan journey.
So here are some aspects regarding Chandrakhani Pass Trek preparation:
Physically – A trek demands physical endurance, to prepare for each trek you should work out a month before joining a program. Build up the adequate strength in your legs by running and exercising every day to boost up your endurance. Stop smoking and boost your lungs doing breathing exercises at routine basis two times a day, which will help acclimatize the conditions while being resilient on the trek. Take active part in outdoor games, Yoga and any other cardiac exercises.
Mentally – Mental preparation is key, equally as important as physical training requisite for a trek. Before joining any trek take pleasure in your daily routines, eat well, take rest properly and relax. Do not stress your mind by unnecessary predictions about the trek. Be with your best friends to get motivated and relax your mind. Because pre trek assumptions are not worthy because once you join the trek and meet with rest of the pack will bring encouragement and excitement. The mental preparedness will build through the entire trek conditions. And the physical drawbacks will affect the mind. So pay close attention to various parts of the body and consciously let them loosen up as you trek. When you trek try to relax your body, especially your hips. If you’re on a winding downhill trail or on a panicking slant, think of each step as part of a simple dance and enjoy the natural rhythms that the terrain and your body can find together cautiously. Experiment with different ways of walking as a way of finding enjoyment beyond the goal of reaching a destination. The main key to stay mentally fit is to enjoy the route and not to pressurize the mind.
Technically- Gear up yourself with perfect size trekking shoes and walk with it. Use 60ltr. Backpack in a daily routine with some weight inside it, so you become used to carrying loads. Buy a trekking pole, water bottle, warm socks, thermals, fleece, feather jackets, trousers, poncho, flip flops, electronics such as power bank, camera (DSLR or digital camera).
Day 1: Reach Naggar (1800m/5900ft.) – Rumsu (2200m/7200ft.) – Naya Tapru (3450m/9770ft.)
As the walk will take the entire day, arrive in Naggar early and begin driving towards Rumsu village. Our walk begins with a strong rise that leads for a while before descending to intermediate trekking tracks. The path winds through woods, shrubs, and torrents to Stelling Ghon Kradi's highland pastures and then to our campground at Naya Tapru. These are all pastoral slants for the livestock of the inhabitants that reside below. But Naya Tapru is the most expansive, with views of the Dhauladhar range, Hanuman Tibba, and, most notably, Manali. When it gets dark, it looks fantastic, and the lights of town add to the sense of remoteness. After completing the day's trek, rest in the natural surroundings. Eat your dinner next to the small fire and sleep peacefully inside the tents.
Day 2: Naya Tapru – Chandarkhani Pass (3700m/12140ft.) – Naya Tapru
Get up early before the sun casts its first rays on the mountains. View the sunrise as it contrasts and glorifies the mountains as it can shine on the various terrains. Pack your day sack, lunch, drink, and any other items you may require later in the hike. The trail will continue to ascend and moderate through high altitude vegetation of Rhododendrons, Birch, and Fir trees, as well as a slew of discarded animals of Bulls, Cows, and some tamed Horses and Mules roaming the slopes. Many of them may be grazing out there, and when we pass by the trail, they may question, "What are you doing in here?" Nonetheless, constant change will welcome the viewer, allowing him to fulfil his feelings at each stage. The great open areas will now be consistent and will display the Pass as we reach Chaklani, a summer halting point for shepherds and some trekkers. Gupt Ganga, an underwater stream, emerges beside the trail to Chandrakhani Pass shortly after Chaklani. This creek runs all year, even in the winter, and serves as a constant source of drinking water for commuters. The water is considered sacred and is returned for spiritual offerings and devotion. It's a gentle climb to the Pass along grassy slants that look like carpet awnings. The top of the pass is made sacred because 18 crore Gods and Goddesses are said to have resided there, creating an abode of powerful vibrations that flatter the entire region. The peak offers a 360-degree view of the surrounding mountains and the most interesting figures of the holy stone emerging from the earth. It is a sacred spot, so please leave no litter or shouts, and respect the site's integrity as it is a popular pilgrimage site for the associated homes. We'll spend some time there before returning to the campsite. When you arrive, grab a hot cup of tea, some munchies, and relax among the majestic hills. Watch the sunset paint the skies in a variety of hues that change sequentially till nightfall.
Day 3: Nayya Tapru – Rumsu – Naggar – Departure on
Today we will return to civilization, to the rush and bustle of the modern world. We'll take the same road back to Rumsu and then drive to Naggar. At Naggar, you will be given all of your previously left-over belongings and will be free to travel to your desired locations.
